Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen within the Parish Office for an Administrator. The role is available on a flexible part time basis, 10 core hours per week with an option for additional hours by agreement to clerk evening meetings once per month.
Our overall goal is to develop and coordinate growth in the congregation and parish with the aim of enabling children, young people and adults to flourish in their relationship with God within the church, local schools and across the parish generally. Working with the leadership team the Administrator will have an important role in helping to achieve these objectives by ensuring the efficient and effective work of the Parish Office.
You will have responsibility for all administrative and clerical work required in supporting the wellbeing of the church through building a robust infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Operate the finance system for invoicing, fee collection, ordering and payment of invoices for church activities and church hall lettings.

Maintain a calendar of all contracts and working with Parochial Church Council (PCC) and designated officers in securing and renewing of contracts.

Operate the communication systems: Website, A Church Near You, Social Media and Newsletter.

Answer telephone, act upon and direct calls as appropriate, taking messages as necessary.

Manage email and postal correspondence, directing them as appropriate.

Preparation of agendas for meetings and supporting documentation in conjunction with relevant Chairs.

Photocopying and preparation of printed materials.

Ordering of necessary office materials, sacristry requirements and other items as required.

Creation and production of parish newsletter (weekly) and service booklets.

Maintenance of parish records and databases.

Maintenance and renewal of Parish Electoral Roll

Providing ad hoc administrative support required by the ministry team or Church Wardens (for example holiday club or church fair).

Training and induction will be provided. The successful candidate will require a DBS and training regarding safeguarding, lone working and health & safety.
Other appropriate training will be provided as required.
Part Time-Interim Parish Administrator

St Mary the Virgin Monkseaton is a vibrant church serving the people of Monkseaton and Whitley Bay. We are busy throughout the week and have a number of activities going on in our church and church hall. We are looking for a person who has training and experience in accounting/book keeping, has good communication and IT skills and can refine our systems and enable us to efficiently and effectively administer the work of the parish.
Part Time: 10 hours per week (Flexible)
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Location: Parish office located in the church. (With some possible homeworking with agreement)
